  BMX is perhaps the only thing good to come out of the 1970's besides the Ramones that the BMX phenomenon entails. By using small, single-speed bikes, bicycle motocross is a way to introduce younger, smaller riders to standard motocross racing. Eventually, it became its own sport. And as the BMXonline store prolifirated, so did the popularity of BMX! The popularity of BMX led to a split between freestyle riding and racing. Races are what you would expect, while freestyle focuses more on tricks.
